Change valuation method

Hi SAP Guru,

SAP B1 9.0 PL05

When changing the valuation method, SAP is throwing the error:

You cannot set bar code as default for this item; define bar code first

I temporarily remove the barcode in item master and was able to update the valuation method successfully.

This is just one item.  However, user has over 1000 items to change valuation method.  Does that mean user has to remove all barcodes in SAP,

update valuation method and put back all barcodes?

Please advise.
