Hi,
I have a question concerning re-order point planning for procured goods (eg. packaging material) and demand coverage creation (PurReq).
Master data setting:
- using MRP type for re-order point planning which is taking external reqmts in total horizon into account
- the re-order point qty => the trigger ist 1000 pieces
- RLT of packaging material is lets say 15 days (planned deliv. time 15 + 0 days for GR processing)
Model situation:
- the simulated a stock/requirement situation where my stock falls below the re-order point qty 1000PC becaue of the existing order production order reservations on 16.07.2015.
Question:
- MRP generates a purchase requisition proposal with the available date 05.02.2015 (because of RLT 15 days) but the question is why?
Is this a standard SAP behavior that for the re-order point planning strategies the demand coverage is always generated with the end date = end of replenishment lead time even the stock falls below defined qty some time in far future (in this case 16.07.2015)
So the date when it happens is not important but only the net requirements are being calculated within total horizon?
Is that true?
Many thanks for your help.
Regards,
Juraj
